Back To School

Sorry, long time no posts however i am back :)

So this week marks the commencement of my studies again. Mmm at this point in time i am wondering what i was thinking!! Making the hour long trip every day doesn't really have any benefits, apart from bp and shell who must be getting used to me! So you might be wondering why am i going back to uni? Well after a year off i felt like it was time to push myself again and see what i can do. Also, i need a higher paying job, and getting a degree seems to be the first step ;)

So besides being maybe the oldest person in my class. . . Some people are actually 17, this makes me a little sad, although i think the lecturer may be a tad older than me?? Hurrah!! and besides my obvious lack of ability to find friends i am doing just fine, and (am in a great relationship with my car).

But seriously I am feeling good, this is a big step for me and unlike most of the things i start i hope i can finish it!! Its nice to keep the brain thinking :).

So this is just a big shout out to anyone who is feeling a little bit like me? Isolated and churning through the fuel? Or in fact started uni and loving it? Living on campus? Let me know :)

A country girl lost in M e l b o u r n e !

M e l b o u r n e ! Possibly the most fabulous city in the world (I'm not bias at all!) Daunting yes! Gorgeous yes! Bright yes! But so so addictive. The city never sleeps - which is very convenient when you are craving a big mac at 1 am! Or a Prada bag at 2! So basically this city has everything, a massive gleaming crown casino (gamblers a many) crazy methods of transport (namely trams) cocktails on a tuesday afternoon and many amazazazing shops. Boutique, designer, vintage - you name it, M e l b o u r n e s got it! What else could you ask for?

Sounds pretty amazing doesn't it? But when you put 20 odd country kids in the centre, shit can get crazy! Upon arriving in the city, (travelling by car) luckily i wasn't trusted enough to drive, so i spent many minutes with the head in a pillow, hoping we weren't side swiped by a tram or a crazy yellow taxi! However, our country driving skills paid off and we arrived in one piece. Almost. . . my pillow was a little worse for wear.

So what might you ask where 20 country kids doing in the big city. Big Day Out. Its well, a big day out, filled with the scorching sun, amazing bands, 60,000 sweating bodies rubbing against each other. Sounds like amazing stuff doesn't it? Except i didn't go. Haha, i mean i went to M e l b o u r n e but i didn't go to the big day out, because alike some country kids, i am slightly claustrophobic. However all my friends had a fabulous day, and i had a great day pa rousing the designer shops, thank you tiffany & co for making me realise i can never afford you!

Aside from the busyness and the hectic traffic, M e l b o u r n e truly is breathtaking. Its quiet refreshing to be in a place abuzz with people, a great contrast to my tumbleweed of a town. However you can't stay forever, money and commitments won't allow!

So today we left the bright lights for the quiet countryside. Might i just add, i do love the city but gee its great to be home. Although its still freaking hot, i prefer the hot soil then the hot bitumen to twinkle my toes on.

Why Hello there!

Hi Fellow Bloggers!

Well, if you knew me, you would know that making a blog and intending to write on it as often as possible is the strangest thing i have ever done! Mainly because I am the most technologically disadvantaged person you might ever met. So what gave me the idea you might be thinking? Well, I actually sat down to watch Julie & Julia and I thought "Hey! Why can't i start a blog?" So here I am. The credits are rolling on the movie and i am doing my first "post". I tell you the setting up of the page was a challenge, not to mention this blog lingo i have not yet caught up on! But i am sure, sometime, maybe not soon but sometime i will get used to it.

You might be wondering what my blog is going to be about. Good question. I thought of doing something similar to Julie, however I don't think i have the time, nor the creativity to make up an idea. So i have decided my blog will be about advice. On anything anybody wants to know of, and i will post whatever i see relevant. I love to dabble in fashion, so maybe a few tips here and there, and i have also done make up courses, so might just give the hints i know we all need. But mostly it will be just about me. What I'm getting up too, and what I'm feeling. So please, if anyone is out there, feel free to comment and ask questions, I don't want to be just talking to myself now :)

So there we are, my first blog. Feels good :) Now i just need to post it! Wish me luck.
